One of our favorite restaurants gives out a free Kobe Sirloin steak for your birthday, so we went last night with our coupon we got since my birthday is next week. It was nice to go out on a date, it feels like it's been awhile since we did that. We got a little dressed up and headed out as soon as I got home from work. We stopped at Tom Thumb on the way home and got a small chocolate cake from their bakery as kind of a birthday cake. I was way too tired to enjoy cake and ice cream last night (I fell asleep while we were watching TV when we got home), so we waited until today and had it after lunch.
Just five more days until the next weekend, which just happens to be my three-day weekend. And my birthday. Hahaha! ;)
Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Weekend Visitors
Andrew's older brother, Jon, got here Friday afternoon. He's in town for a few days, so we get to spend time with him. Friday night we went out to BJ's Brewhouse (he'd never been) and had a really good time. I had to work Saturday, so Andrew and Jon went to Stonebriar Mall and did a little shopping. They stumbled on something in Lowe's that has solved our cardboard fireplace "cover" problem: a baby gate! Looks weird, I guess, but it works perfectly! And now we don't have to buy a custom screen! Dewey thinks it's fun, he can stick his paws through it.

Then Jon went to Lake Texoma Saturday afternoon, staying overnight. While he was away, we had my little brothers over to spend the night. They hadn't seen Dewey since we first got him, and they thought he was adorable!! Daniel had so much fun with Dewey!

I took this video of Daniel playing with Dewey...
Daniel was trying to lure Dewey out with the feathered stick, and Dewey snuck around the back of the couch and startled Daniel from the other side...
Connor and Andrew were playing the Wii while Daniel played with Dewey. Connor, of course started talking smack before they played. You can tell how intimidated Andrew was, hahaha!

Another cute Dewey video:
Dewey definitely adored Daniel (Connor was worried Dewey would play-bite him and pretty much kept his distance).

Daniel finally joined in and played the Wii with Connor and Andrew.

It was around 10:00, at this point. And since I'd been up since 6:15, and I was laying down on the futon...I passed out, hahaha. So tired. But the boys stayed up until about 2am playing games and had a great time. Then this morning we got up, ate breakfast, and then headed to an early showing of Disney/Pixar's "Up". It was REALLY CUTE, definitely a must-see if you like kid movies. Plus, we saw it at the dollar theater, so our four admissions cost $4.00! "Can't beat that with an egg beater."
Sadly, it was time to take the boys home. Jon got back into town, and we met up with him for a late lunch/ early dinner at Los Cucos (yummy Mexican food place near our home). When came home and let Dewey out, Jon laid down to take a little nap, but Dewey was too happy to see him to let him sleep! He has LOVED Jon since the second he got here!

Now Jon is finally getting his nap, Dewey's napping in his carrier (he loves that thing!), and Andrew and I are on the couch watching football. It's about time for laundry (ugh!). We're lucky to have Jon here, we get to spend a couple of more days with him. We were so happy to have Daniel and Connor this weekend, we missed them! We got to have a yummy dinner with my parents when we picked the boys up Saturday night, and that was a lot of fun. So we've had a very good weekend!!
Especially Dewey...he's been happy as a clam to have all of these guests!

Saturday night we went to BJ's Brewhouse with our friends to celebrate our engagement! We had an excellent turnout! Erika, Gabriel, James, Alexis, Robyn, Sara, Sheri, Monica, Christine, Keith, Joel, Steve, Shanta (I hope I spelled that right, sorry if I didn't!), Neechie, Eric, and Nikki all came out to toast to Andrew's and my engagement. Joel and Sheri both gave little speeches, we enjoyed some good food a few drinks...it was a lot of fun!

Alexis, the birthday girl!!

I didn't get pictures of everyone, unfortunately. We were all just having too much fun, these pictures were all taken at the beginning of the evening.
Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who showed up and made this a fantastic evening! We love you all!!

4 Months Old
Last Tuesday, Dewey turned four months old. That means that we've only had him for two months! It seems much longer... But I pulled some old pictures to show how much he's grown in just two months.
Here are the baby pictures his foster mom sent us after we adopted him:

He was so little and precious!!!!
And here are some shots to show how big he was when Daddy uesd to hold him, and when Daddy holds him now...

And here is how much he's grown compared to Daddy's flipflops.

We love him so much!!! He's still into this biting thing, it's by far his favorite game. Luckily he doesn't use his claws ever, so we may still be able to get away with NOT declawing him. But he's getting bigger everyday, he's growing like crazy! He's into EVERYTHING. We came back from vacation and discovered that he was now big enough to jump onto every counter we have and get into the sinks to play with water.

One of his favorite toys isn't even a toy at all...it's a few of Daddy's dirty socks. Seriously, the little turd LOVES THEM. Carries them around in his mouth, plays with them all over the living room...it's SO CUTE!!

While he's perfectly capable of driving us completely crazy as he runs around knocking stuff off of counters, we absolutely adore him and are enjoying watching him grow up!

Andrew's Birthday
I didn't get a chance to blog about Andrew's birthday before we left, because there was just too much to do that week. So here it is, a little bit late!
Here he is opening his first present:

He needed a good food processor, and he thought this was really his only present. Well, except for me cooking DINNER for him the night before his birthday. I did chicken in a skillet with vegetables. And I did a salad with a homemade Dijon dressing that had lettuce, tomatoes, basil, and chicken and cheese filled tortellinis. It would've been great, if the dressing wasn't too vinegary, and if the chicken hadn't been so thin (it cooked quickly and became like a piece of leather).
But Andrew ate it all. I love him!! I ate the pasta from the salad and the skillet veggies (they were seasoned beautifully, if I do say so myself!).

Then after dinner came his big surprise...the main present that I was so careful to hide from him!

He's been wanting a Wii for awhile, and I kept telling him we should wait until Christmas, blah-blah-blah. I was so worried I was going to come home one day and he was going to have impulse-bought one, and I was going to have to figure out a different birthday present, hahaha! But he didn't really suspect it anymore, once he saw the wrapped food processor and knew that was too big to be a Wii. I kept the other present hidden, so he didn't suspect a thing. I think it's the only time I've ever pulled off a surprise!
And what would a post be without a little Dewey?? He had fun opening presents with Daddy!

I hope that you had a fantastic birthday weekend, babe, I know I had fun watching you open your presents! I love you!
