A bit of this, a bit of that...

We have been having a wonderful summer so far! We got to go see our first concert together back in July: Michael Buble. I had seen him once and loved him, so I have turned Andrew into a Buble fan! We both LOVED the concert (we had 5th row seats on the lower balcony right off the side of the stage). I forgot the camera, so we were stuck with an iPhone camera. They can be seen in my Mobile Uploads pics on Facebook, it won't let me upload them here.

The end of July brought about the anniversary of the date we picked Dewey up from the Dog and Kitty City shelter in Dallas. It's been a crazy year with him. I know I talk about him on here a lot, but I am so in love with that furry little monster. He's THE most unique cat I've ever seen, and he is constantly making us laugh. He is a creature of habit, and we can usually tell what he's going to do before he does it. His wide eyes and body language always give him away, haha. We know that if we walk out of the kitchen or bathroom, he's going to jump out and "scare" us. It's very dramatic, he leaps in th air JUST in front of us after darting out from a box or around a corner. He puts his two front paws over his head as he jumps and then he scampers off. Every once in awhile, he genuinely surprises us and it's so funny. At night when we turn off the TV, or when we get home from being out and let him out, he will run to the living room rug and roll around doing pitiful little meows. And if you need to go to the bathroom, expect a little companion to come with you. He's so nosy, has to be where we are. But he's super affectionate when we go to the bathroom, he's sooooooooo lovey-dovey...he's strange.

He has changed so much physically. He went from being a big clumsy kitten to a big still-pretty-clumsy cat. His whiskers were short and uneven, now they are long and elegant and gorgeous. He's even got a few on each side that are turning black instead of being white. His fur is bushy and soft and makes him look even bigger than he really is. He still loves every toy we give him, and he's a box whore. He used to have four boxes downstairs. When we cleaned this weekend, Andrew threw away one of his boxes and we put another one in his room upstairs...and he made sure to watch his other two, haha.

We love Dewey so much!! Such a handsome little bugger! And my, how he's grown!

The end of July also brought with it Alison's birthday! Andrew works with her husband, Jason, and we have hung out several times, they are wonderful people! They have a one-year old named Chase, and Alison is due at the end of August with their second child. We all went out to The Melting Pot for her birthday, then caught a late-night showing of The Grownups afterwards. It was a blast!

Andrew had a job interview last week for a position within a Fidelity branch in Southlake. He should find out before the end of the week if he got it. He looked so good in his suit that morning! He'll have to wear a suit and tie everyday if he gets the job, and I would love that! I love a man in a tie. ;)

My friend and coworker Brandi had her first baby last week! Abigail Kaye Abel came into the world weighing 7 lbs 7 oz, and mother and daughter are doing great. She went home Saturday, we are so happy for them!! We went up to the hospital Thursday night and got to visit and see the baby...she's beautiful! No pictures, sorry!

We are getting closer to being under the 100 Days mark for our wedding, and we are so excited!! We updated our wedding website under "Accommodations", "Calendar of Events", and "Flight Info", so be sure to check that out if you haven't already. A few people have asked about gifts, and our registry information is explained on the website under "Registry". We have a honeymoon registry set up, all of the information is there.

We have found a new burger place that we love. We've been dying to try out Jake's Hamburgers for awhile now, and we finally did. We were really impressed, and we plan on going back there again and again! So yummy! I'm not much of a pickle chips fan (they're usually too thick), but Jake's does them right: thin, crispy, and kinda greasy. Delicious!

That's about it with us for now. I'm off to watch recorded shows from last week's Shark Week. I'm nervous to turn it on, though, because I found out from watching Shark Week's Mythbusters that the Bahamas is the "shark capital of the world" and has many shark-feeding and infested waters in the area. For those of you going, "Wait, isn't that where you guys are going on your honeymoon?", you'd be right. The color drained from my face when I heard that and I immediately started Googling things about it. I've decided my plan of attack: magnets. It was kind of busted on Mythbusters, but it was also an obvious truth on half of their test. It's worth taking some, haha.
