That evening, we decided to open our presents. Andrew's tradition growing up was to open their presents on Christmas Eve. I told him that I won't want to do it quite that way when we have kids (Christmas morning is just too fun!) but that until then we can do it that way.
I got very creative in my wrapping of his presents: I used boxes from around the house for random things (thanks for the idea, K-Pop!), so Andrew was laughing at his presents before he opened them:
He loved everything I got him (we do need to exchange two of the shirts, I got the wrong fit but he LOVED the colors!):
His stocking was very small, but it was all Pampered Chef stuff: some recipes, a microplane zester, and some spice rubs for when he's smoking some meat.
His big present was a Craftsman End-Grain cutting board. It weighs about 15 pounds and is just the most exquisite cutting board I've ever seen. It's about three times bigger than his other cutting boards, too. Needless to say: HE LOVED IT.
I got some really great things for Christmas, too. He took pictures of my makeup that I use, and was running low on, and he replenished my supply. That was my stocking stuff, I was so excited. He also got me my makeup remover in a huge bulk pack from Costco. He could've just gotten me all of that and I'd have been a happy camper. "But wait, there's more!"
He got me a purse (Dooney and Bourke!!) and the new Jodi Piccoult book. And he bought me my favorite hard-to-find candy from Harry London. I also got a "skin" (a vinyl sticker) for my Kindle, as well as a black leather case for my Kindle, and the casserole dish that goes with our holiday dish collection. He did SO good!! =)
Dewey got to open one present on Christmas Eve, he got a new bag of treats. He ate some, and we filled up his little treat egg (he pushes it around until treats fall out, he loves it).
Christmas morning, Dewey must've anticipated some more things for himself: he cried like CRAZY until we got up. He got some cat grass, more treats, a catnip Santa Mouse, and a remote controlled mouse! He's not too sure about the remote contolled mouse yet, but he will get used to it in time. He's such a wimp, haha.
We had a yummy breakfast while Dewey played with his new stuff. Andrew made biscuits and gravy with some cheesy scrambled eggs. After that, we got ready and headed over to my sister's house. My parents, all three of my younger brothers, and my grandmother were there, too. It was a lot of fun! We all had fun opening presents.
We had SUCH a yummy meal! We had turkey, corn casserole, Mom's stuffing, a FABULOUS grape salad (new recipe I just got recently from a potluck at work), homemade rolls, canned cranberry jelly (yum!!), a leafy salad, mashed potatoes, and greenbean casserole. We had apple pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cookies, and fudge for dessert. We ate like kings, haha.
After dinner the kiddos were trying to wind down before bedtime, but it was tough, haha.
We got some family pictures while we had everyone there (and I was voluntarily dressed up in a dress, haha):
Andrew and I wanted to get a few pictures of just us, thanks to Half-Caff for getting it done. ;)
I know it's a lot of pictures, haha, but we just had SUCH a wonderful Christmas. It was the best Christmas I've had in many, many, many years. I hope all of you had a blessed, wonderful, Merry Christmas. Love you all!!!
