Moving

Oh my goodness, what a crazy weekend!! We got the keys to our new place Wednesday, and Andrew brought over the first load of boxes after work. On Wednesday and Thursday it was just us moving: no helpers. We worked hard and were completely exhausted! But it was worth it, we are so happy with the new place! Here are the pictures I took of our place the first night.

We hadn't moved a bed in yet, so the first two nights we spent on the futon in the middle of the living room.

Here is a quick little tour of our apartment!

On Friday, Andrew and I were both off of work, and we went to Grand Prairie first thing to pick up our new furniture. We ended up renting a Budget rental truck because we needed the extra space.

After we picked up the furniture, we headed to my house to get my stuff and pick up my older brother, Josh, who was a massive help to Andrew with the big furniture! My friend Mandi tagged along, too, to help load up my car with the smaller stuff. While the guys moved the furniture, Mandi and I went to the store to buy essentials for the fridge, hahaha!

Andrew did such a great job putting the dining room table together (although Josh and I helped here and there).

Then it was time to get the sofa unwrapped and set up.

Josh was a HUGE help, and I appreciated Mandi taking time from her holiday weekend to come help out! You guys are the best, we owe you!!!

Saturday was another busy day. We did take time that morning to eat breakfast (we were bad about not eating while we busted our butts moving boxes). Poor Andrew looks so tired!!!

We were up early and over at Andrew's old place to wait for Steve, one of Andrew's friends, to come help move his heavy stuff. The place was nearly empty before we started, it was awesome to see how much we'd done!

Steve and Andrew got the heavy stuff moved like it was nothing, it went so fast!

Saturday night we decided to take a break from moving and unpacking. We headed up to Frisco's Pizza Hut Park for "the biggest fireworks extravaganza in North Texas", and to celebrate our 6-month anniversary of our first date. We were exhausted, but we had a great time!

Here is just some of what we saw at the Frisco fireworks show:

Sunday we slept in (awesome!!). We did a bigger grocery shopping, and went to Wal-Mart and got the grill we wanted. Andrew put it together while we sat there and watched a cake challenge on Food Network.

The directions looked very confusing at first, but Andrew got it all figured out!

When opening the box of screws and bolts, they went everywhere, it was funny!

Isn't it adorable???

We immediately grilled burgers for dinner, and they were SO GOOD!!!!

Sunday night was the 7-month anniversary of us "meeting" on eHarmony. So we popped a cork on a bottle of sparkling wine and used the plastic cups we got at the Rangers game to toast our life together.

Monday morning, after Andrew left for work, I decided to do something to really contribute to our move. I felt like I hadn't been able to move as much heavy stuff as Andrew had, so I wanted to clear out the mountain of boxes from the living room. Here is what it looked like before, from pictures taken over the weekend:

So I attacked the mountain of boxes, putting them in the rooms they belonged in, and I moved the futon (which I will never do again, I was praying for the Lord to give me the strength to pull it ten feet...SO HEAVY!!!) and the couch to where we wanted them. It took a little over an hour, and I ended up having to take a second shower, but it looked so much better!!

We can't wait to get everything unpacked and ready to start entertaining! We're having a cookout/housewarming party here soon, we'll keep you all posted! Hope your 4th of July weekend was a heck of a lot more relaxing than ours, hahaha!

Thanks again to the three people who helped us Friday and Saturday...we couldn't have done it without you!!!!
