Getting closer to moving day!!!

So we really only got a day and a half this weekend, since it was my weekend to work (but I'm off the next three Saturdays, woo-hoo!!). Saturday night after I got off of work, I was driving home so that Andrew and I could head out for our date, and I got stuck suddenly in INTENSE traffic on George Bush, right before my exit for 183. I called Andrew to have him look up what the problem was, and where, so I could figure out if I should sit it out or find an alternate route. Turns out there was a person threatening to jump at 183 and 360, so 183 was shut down in both directions. I have no idea if they did or not.

I left work around 5:20-ish, and I should've been home by about 5-10 minutes to 6:00. Instead, I got home at 6:45, and had to run in and change, fix my hair, and do my makeup so we could leave at 7:00. We had tickets to go see "Dame Edna: My First Last Tour" at the Bass Performance Hall in Ft. Worth. Andrew had never heard of Dame Edna until I asked him if he wanted to go see "her" with me. He didn't let the concept of an Australian man dressing up like a gaudy, "naughty" old woman and doing stand-up comedy put him off, he agreed to go. And I think he really enjoyed the show, we had a great time!

Sunday we got up and went over to my parents' house to get the rest of my stuff knocked out. We got everything packed that I wanted from under my bed, we cleaned out my dresser, and got my shoes packed up. There's really not much left to pack, it's all pretty much done. I did seriously go through my stuff and got four more trash bags of stuff.

While we were visiting with my mom, we got a rare glimpse of Zoe, our Siamese cat. She's such an anti-social little thing, but she was letting us pet her. Then Daniel picked her up and she hid her face into his arm and just sat there, it was so funny!

Andrew's been getting the rest of his stuff packed more and more when he gets home in the afternoon. He's left a few things he'll need this week in his closet, but other than that he's pretty much emptied it out. And it doesn't look like we took 20 boxes to my sister's, because that corner's piled high with boxes again, hahaha!

I have the best boyfriend ever. With this WONDERFUL triple-digit heat we've got going on right now, my black steering wheel is H-O-T when I get in my car during lunch and after work. So Andrew went and bought me a gray steering wheel cover that is soft like a teddy bear.

He also bought himself some new clothes. He's into these plaid shorts, and I think he looks awesome in them! He finally found some brown flip flops that he liked, too.

And here are his new sunglasses! They're polarized, so they cut down on most of the glare from the road/other cars to help you see better. He loves them!

We had a great day and a half! And moving day is two short days away!!! We are so excited, and I cannot wait to blog and show you all our new place!

Girls Night Out

The Addison Melting Pot has finally started doing the monthly "Girls Night Out" special! It's a great way to enjoy The Melting Pot, it's a reduced price, you get a few free goodies, and the atmosphere is perfect, as always! I went with Sara and Robyn, and we had so much fun! We were giggling most of the time when we were trying to take pictures, so they didn't all come out with everyone in them looking perfect. This one of me and Bob had us all cracking up!

It was a set menu, with the cheese, meat, and chocolate courses being really yummy! The salad portion...wasn't my cup of tea. Funky lettuce, artichokes, olives, and a mushroom dressing. Gag me with a spoon!!! Sara and I didn't eat ours, and Bob looked a little skeptical, but ended up deciding that it wasn't that bad.

Our meat course was a little different than what we usually get. There was shrimp, spinach/artichoke ravioli (yuck!!), BBQ pork tenderloin, honey dijon chicken, and teriyaki sirloin. I have to say, the honey dijon chicken was by far the best. Robyn and Sara thought this piece looked like a rubber chicken, but I don't see it...

The dessert course was yummy, it was a Butterfingers chocolate fondue. It got lit on fire like last time, but no dash of cinnamon to make it explode this time.

Next week is Sara's birthday, so Bob bought her The Melting Pot Cookbook, and also got one for herself. I tried to get a picture of Sara with hers, but we were being silly and laughing. Love the Vanna White pose, though!

We will definitely be having fondue parties with these cookbooks! Sara and Robyn each have a fondue set that we used before, but now we have official recipes to try out! Andrew and I are DEFINITELY on board with that! We're glad they got the cookbooks!

I brought along Andrew's sofa table for Sara to take with her. We're getting new furniture, and his coffee and sofa table are in excellent condition and Andrew decided to give them to Sara, since she's planning to move into her own place soon. I could only transport one thing, so I picked the lighter one, hahaha!

I had so much fun with my girls!! I did miss Andrew, though, and it was great to get home to see him. He was bummed he wasn't allowed to come with us, haha!

Thanks, girls, we'll have to do this again sometime!!

I love a two-day weekend...

Every other weekend I am off on Saturdays, and these are the BEST!! This weekend was really great! It started off Friday night with Andrew and I going to Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill in Addison to celebrate his weight loss. It was the one-year anniversary of his decision to change the way he lived by eating right and exercising and started to lose weight. Over 100 pounds later, he's still going strong and looking healthy and fantastic! I'm so proud of you, babe!!

Saturday morning we picked up my brother Josh and my niece Alexis and we went over to my parents' house. She opened some birthday presents and Josh brought cupcakes.

Here are pictures of our fat cat, Max, and a couple of goofy pictures of Addison. She wouldn't sit very still because she was so excited, so it's kind of blurry. Zoe was no where to be found, she's so anti-social!

Saturday night we went to dinner with my sister, Travis, and the kids. They love this place called Rudy's up in Frisco, so they wanted to introduce Andrew and me to it. The food was great, I had a turkey sandwich with some of their A-M-A-Z-I-N-G creamed corn. Andrew and everyone else ate the brisket (and the creamed corn, of course!). Paige was cute, she was so good at feeding herself. Jacob ate great (with Mommy's help) and both of them enjoyed watching a video on the portable DVD player.

Paige was being silly at random moments, and I didn't usually have my camera ready. But finally she did something I caught: she pressed her hands to the side of her head and rocked it back and forth, she was being such a ham!

And she has got "The Look" down!

Jacob got to play with the video game that was behind us before we left, it was so cute!

Andrea got Paige out of her seat, which Paige was fine with. Well then Andrea passed her off to me and Andrew so she could gather stuff. Paige was having none of this. She fake-cried with me, and struggled to get away from Andrew. He showed her the machine with stuffed animals in it, and that seemed to distract her pretty well from the fact that "MOMMA!" wasn't holding her.

But the car ride home was too much for Paigers. Momma was in the seat behind her, I was in the middle between Jacob and Paige in the middle section, and Travis and Andrew were up front. Jacob was alright, but even a lollipop couldn't cheer up Paige.

Once home, the kids got to take a bath. Afterwards they were feeling much better and put on their heavy coats (they love to play in these for some reason) and goofed around.

Travis got on the floor and started playing with them, and it was so cute!! There are some videos below (the lighting was dim, they are kind of dark, but you can hear them just fine)!

Here is a video of Jacob doing his impression of Winnie the Pooh being stuck in Rabbit's front door. He crawls under something and goes, "Jacob stuck!" and laughs like crazy when you pull him out.

Paige and Jacob are into "Dora the Explorer", and there's a fox on there (the "bad guy" of the show) that is called Swiper. He tries to steal whatever Dora and Boots have. Well they always chant, "Swiper no swiping!" a few times and he goes "Aw, MAN!!" and runs off. Paige loves to do the "Aw, MAN!" part, here's a video:

Phoenix wanted to play, but she has to keep up her pretense that she doesn't like people, hahaha!

Thanks for letting us hang out, guys, we had so much fun!!

Andrew and I saw two movies in a row Saturday night. We saw Year One first (don't waste your money, it wasn't that great!), and then we saw The Proposal (SOOOOO worth seeing, we recommend it!). We didn't go to bed until after 2am that night, so we slept in late Sunday morning. But we had a great day, we took some boxes over to my sister's to have them closer when we start moving into our apartment. I think we got about 20 boxes over there.

Jacob waited at the door while we did everything. He'd just sit/stand there, and then when he saw Andrew coming, he'd immediately lie down on the floor on his stomach right in the walkway. It was hysterical!

Paige just stood on her little table by the window and was content to watch us walk back and forth from the car.

We let a fly in by accident, and Andrea decided to kill the bug in the window with blinds. Paige stood there "helping" it was so funny!

It was great getting to visit with the kids for a minute and watch them play. They were interested in the boxes Andrew stacked up, hopefully they won't bug Andrea TOO much by climbing on them!

Afterwards, we went over to spend some time with my dad for Father's Day. We also spent about five hours de-cluttering my room (three bags of trash and a bag of clothes for goodwill) and getting about 9-10 boxes packed with all of my clothes, books, DVDs, CDs, and other random items. We should have one more 4 or 5 hour packing session over there and we'll be done with my room.

We are getting the keys 9 DAYS from today, and we couldn't be more thrilled!! We'll keep you all posted on the progress!!

Enjoy your Monday, have a fantastic week!
