No pictures...

Sorry to say, we did not take a SINGLE picture this weekend. Our camera has been in Ricky Bobby's center console, and I keep forgetting to bring it with me every time I get out of the car...

We had a great weekend, though! Saturday I had to work (ugh!), but after that Andrew met me over at my sister's house and we babysat for Jacob and Paige while Andrea and Travis went to dinner and their church group meeting. On the way home, we stopped by my friend Erika's apartment to feed her cats (she was in Vegas getting married). It made me anxious to get in our own apartment and get our own kitties!!

Sunday we slept in and took our time getting ready to go, there was no work to rush off to. We went by the store to pick up pool stuff: bathing suits, towels, sunscreen, and a pool bag. We got to my sister's around 2:30 and went to the neighborhood pool with her, Travis, and the kids for a couple of hours of swimming. It had been seven years since I'd been in a swimming pool, and twelve years for Andrew!! But we had a great time, we really enjoyed ourselves. On the way home we stopped and saw a movie for free. We had gone on a date on Wednesday night and seen The Hangover (HIGHLY recommend it!!!), and when the storm hit, the power got knocked out for quite some time. They ended up getting to play the rest of the movie for us, but they said we could bring back our ticket stubs and see another movie for free sometime.

So we stopped and saw The Taking of Pelham 123 with John Travolta and Denzel Washington. We both liked it VERY much and saw some really great previews. We saw three movies this week (we also saw Land of the Lost last week, and just so you all know: this really is NOT a kid movie, despite how it may seem!), and we really liked going out on a movie date. We will definitely be doing that more often!

Then it got crazy...we had separate cars coming home, and we both stopped at the Quik Trip by the apartment to get gas. It was packed, and I was patiently waiting for this one car to move, I was clearly "in line". Then some a-hole in a Beamer pulls up and just scoots in front of me, no remorse. I was ticked, and finally was like, "I have no gas, I'm not sitting here waiting!" So my plan was to drive down to the gas station right on the other side of the highway from the apartment to fill up. I did that, and as I was pulling out of the gas station, I decided AGAINST getting on the service road to go down to U-turn around and come all the way back up. I went through the light to go under the highway, thinking I knew what road it would take me to, the road that would go down the back way to get home. It veered off to the left, however, and I found myself going the opposite direction from where I needed to go. I come up on a light, look to my left and I see the highway. Remember this moment, because I'm going to come BACK to this later in the story.

So I turn left, thinking I'll just go back down to that highway (that I assumed was 183) and go the way I decided against when I originally pulled out of the gas station. Well, it turns out that was 820. But I had not gone far and figured 183 must be right there. Well sure enough, I see a sign that says "183 West" and I take the exit for it. I come up to a small, two-lane road that says if I turn left I'll be on 10, and if I turn right I'll be on 183 West. So I turned right. And there were traffic lights on this road, so I knew that it was NOT 183. I kept seeing signs that pointed me to go straight for 183 West, so I kept following them thinking I'd eventually circle back around and find it. Turns out I WAS on 183 West, but it was a DIFFERENT 183 West (they couldn't come up for another name for this road?? Seriously?!?!?). I drove for awhile before I finally called Andrew in tears to tell him I was lost. After many frustrating minutes of not being able to always tell him what street I was on or passing because of the GROSS lack of signs (and lighting to see the signs that WERE there!), he finally got me back on the right way. So I'm on 26, heading under 820. I reach the road that took me the back way to the apartment. Andrew comes out and gives my sorry, sobbing behind a big hug. We go inside, and I ask him to show me the map he used to get me home so I could see how far away I was and where I went wrong...

Well remember that moment I told you to remember? Well...if I had gone RIGHT instead of left, I would've turned onto 26 and reached the road I was looking for, I'd have had a 5 minute detour from the gas station to home. But by turning left, I was gone for 45 minutes in a NOT great part of town in tears ('cause I am a baby like that, hahaha!). Crazy.

The feeling I had when I got home last night was, "I cannot WAIT to get out of this apartment, AWAY from this end of town, to an area that I know almost like the back of my hand!"

Moving day can't come soon enough...16 days away!!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, and I promise to make sure we take more pictures!
