X Factor: THE LIVE SHOWS START!!!!

To say that I'm super excited for America to make the calls from now on is an understatement. I probably won't get to vote much this season, since Andrew's not watching this show and I won't always get to watch it the night it happens. But I feel confident that America will make some good choices. There's only three or four people/groups I don't agree with in the top 12, and that's awesome for me! The chance of someone I like winning makes me SO HAPPY!!

So here I am, curled up with a glass of water, a little Halloween candy, and my laptop: ready to get started! So let's go...

The judges look good! Simon looks as hot as ever, LA looks classy, the girls are sparkly. I'm really hoping the performances are great.

First of the night are the Stereo Hogzz. Looking forward to them, definitely my favorite group in the competition. They didn't start off that great, something sounded off. The choreography looked like it was SUPPOSED to be good, but I thought they weren't as tight as they could've been with it. I don't know what song they are singing, but I guess that's alright. They have lots of energy, their sound is better with the song picking up. All in all, I think they did good. The judges really need to be careful and pick songs America will recognize and like. I don't know if they sang the song the way it was originally sung or if they changed it up and rocked it in a way it's never been rocked before, you know? I love it when artists change songs up, and I don't know if these guys did or not. The judges were happy, so I'm glad. They are a great group.

Next we have Chris. I was shocked at the song choice...a Carpenters song??? Instantly I was intrigued...oh, then he changed to something else for a rapping portion, but he brought it back to "Superstar" for the choruses. I have to say, it wasn't bad! I liked it more than I thought I would! I would buy that song! I thought he looked great, too. It was nice to see him without the hat. The judges all seemed pleased with his performance, so that was good. He did a really great job!

Look at Steve The Host!! Trying out some banter with Simon!! It fell flat, but 'A' for effort!

Leroy is up. He's singing a country song, "I'm Already There." He's singing it great, but my big question mark with Leroy is that I don't know what kind of artist he's wanting to be. He's clearly not pop. He's not country. Paula hit the nail on the head, he sounds like Michael Bolton. But as much as I love Michael Bolton, he's not current or very popular anymore. I'm confused about WHO this guy is. That being said, he did okay on the song. He sounded really good. But I think this guy needs better songs to figure out who he is. I love that Simon calls Nicole out, and it clearly upsets her. And what the heck is she wearing on her hand?? It's a silver bracelet looking thing, but it's sitting just below her fingers, above her thumb. Celebrities wear the weirdest things sometimes.

Bit of news: X Factor will be back next season. Maybe we can replace Steve The Host and Nicole???

My little Rachel is next. I just love this kid!! She's singing one of my FAVORITE songs to bop to (yes, I said BOP) in the car. "Walking on Sunshine" is such a fun song. And she's changing up the song??? Not sure why, I don't like that. Don't like the way she looks, either. Plus she's not being given songs that give her more power moments to show off what she's got. She did okay, but I think she did WAY better with her very first audition and the one where she was singing at Simon's house. Paula agrees with me about wanting songs to show her range. "Nicole, grown-ups are talking." HAHAHA! Love Simon...

Lakoda Rayne is up next. They're representing the seasons?? Kinda strange...but it's not their fault and it shouldn't be held against them. At least it just means they're in different colored dresses with pictures behind them. They're singing "Landslide", which I believe the Dixie Chicks did a version of. I wish these girls would go down that road. I think it would change their sound in a drastically GOOD way. But they sounded pretty good. These girls do a good job as a group, I don't dislike them.

Was it just me, or did Steve The Hose look really creepy and when he told Simon he needed glasses, and then LEERED at the girls?? Haha!

Josh!!! I'm really wanting Nicole to give him something better this week. Opening video shows she gave him a song that doesn't relate to him at all. I really don't like what Nicole brings to the table. I really hope she's gone next season. "Jar of Hearts"? Not necessarily a "girl" song, but not a Josh song. I think he did everything he could with it, he sounds good all the time. He just needs something grittier, he has that kind of voice. Very Chad Kroeger-ish. (Sidenote, why does Nicole cry EVERY time her contestants sing??? Even Paula's not that dramatic...) At least the judges all loved him, hopefully America did, too. I think he did great, but he hasn't really had a "moment" since his first audition. I want an epic performance from him because he's capable of one.

Melanie is next, and I couldn't be happier that this lady is in the competition!! She's being challenged this week, by singing a song that ISN'T a Mariah/Whitney type song. That's hilarious. "I'm going to challenge you be giving you a less hard song to sing." What a compliment for her!! She's singing "Desperado", and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this song. I've turned it on more than once in a moment of sadness over the years. And I flippin' LOOOOOOOOVE what Melanie's doing to it. She's injected her power voice into it, and she sounds amazing. America will be so wrong if they don't put this girl through to the end to win it. She's exquisite. And she looks so beautiful!!! Just love her. My favorite!!

Lord help me. I knew Brian would be up at some point tonight, but I don't have to be happy about it. I just don't think this kid is READY to be a rap star. "Get the beat on"? Nope. This kid just SOUNDS juvenile, and to me rap is a grown-up thing. Simon turned on me...I disagree 110%. This kid just doesn't cut it for me.

Intensity is up next, and I didn't really agree with them being put through. They don't want to be thought of like Disney kids?? Well newsflash, boys and girls: that's what you SOUND like. Either embrace it, or try to be something you're not and fail spectacularly. I love the way they look, the outfits are awesome. But they sound very High School Musical. I disagree with the "Glee" comparison, I don't think they are THAT good, and they certainly aren't all good on their own. Ellonna is amazing, but to me that's about it. They have high energy, though, and I see kids really getting into this group. For me, it's not my taste. I think they are the weakest of the groups, though.

Drew. No doubt in my top three favorite contestants. I'm worried that Simon's going to give her something faster since she really only does slower songs. I'm glad to see she's sticking with a slow song, and she does pick it up a little bit. She sounds great, I have no idea what she's singing, though. She couldn't be any more adorable if she tried!!! Her voice is just so pure and clear. I love it. Ohhh. It's a Nelly song. I do remember that song now. I agree with Nicole, actually, Drew absolutely COULD guest sing with Eminem on a track. She did such a great job!!

Marcus is singing next, and I just love this kid. I don't know anything about Bobby Brown as an artist but I agree with Simon after Marcus got going in his song. I don't think we need another Bobby, because this is the first time Marcus hasn't seemed that great, this kid has something more in him. He didn't sound very current. He has a great voice, and I worry about what LA Reid is doing to him. I feel like Marcus needs to be a Bruno Mars or Taio Cruz kind of singer. Simon ended up liking it, but I think Marcus could be so much better if they had him go down a different path.

Last up is Stacy, and I just KNEW at the top of the show that this diva would be put last. I do not agree with her being here anymore. Nice lady, I just don't like her voice anymore. I have to admit, her lower tone is very nice. And she exerted a lot of control on her bigger notes at first. But then she tried to do some runs at one point and it sounded terrible. Her voice is not as good as she thinks it is. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one with that opinion. This WAS one of her better performances, though: Simon was right. Church-singer. Why is she offended by that? I'm actually kind of annoyed and offended that she thinks that church music is beneath her. It really made me like her even less to hear her say she was offended.

Well, that's it for the performaces. The results are tonight. I really feel like Brian, Intensity, Stacy, and Rachel were the worst from their categories. Of those, I truly feel like Brian was the worst. We'll see what America thinks. I'll probably blog the results tonight, so if you like this show and don't plan on watching tonight, don't check my blog tonight. =)
