Let's make this short and sweet, there's a lot to do tonight to get ready for tomorrow!
First off, LA's explanation as to why Brian "Astro" Bradley acted the way he did was lame-sauce. Totally. Moving on.
Rachel sounds incredible, and her video before about her dedicating the song to her adoptive parents was SO SWEET. I teared up, and it definitely reinforced my desire to adopt children some day. One of her best vocals since her original audition! Didn't know the song, but it didn't matter. LOVE HER!!
Marcus is thankful for his mother, and she sounds like a really remarkable lady. I thought it was sweet how she was trying not to cry while he was singing his Boyz II Men song. He sounded pretty good, too. Not my favorite song, but the words were sweet and I agree with his decision. Loved the pictures on the screen and the way he went over to sing to her. Tearing up again!!! I was warned this episode was a tear-jerker, and that's no joke! Full-blown crying now.
Steve The Angry-Aggressive Host manages to suck all genuine-ness (just invented a word, haha) out of a moment.
Melanie is giving thanks to the Lord, and I think that's really wonderful. Love her even more!! Interesting song choice, it's definitely one I have loved since the moment it hit the airwaves. She was singing it nice and soft in the beginning, showing good range. I think she could've done more with the bigger parts of the song, surprisingly. But overall I liked it. Also, how is it that I JUST noticed her slight accent tonight when she mentioned it??? Crazy!! She looks absolutely beautiful, also.
Oh, and I cried again. Sheesh!!!
Two people going home??? Nuts!!
Chris is giving thanks to his rehab sponsor. He's seven months sober, and I'm so proud of him!! (Just in case you were wondering? Crying again...) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his song choice! Showing a different side, and I'm LOVIN' IT!!!!!!!!!! That's part of his first audition song, and it's his best yet! I would NOT be upset if this kid wins. He's such a role model!!
Lakoda Rayne is thanking everyone in their lives who supported them. Sweet videos. But the song choice?? Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" doesn't seem to mesh with what they're supposed to be singing about. They sound okay, though. So whatever, I guess.
Leroy is thankful for his mom, who passed away within the last couple of years. He picked "Angel" by Sarah McLaughlin. Great song, but he rushed it at the beginning. It's just a shame that we're seeing him sing at age 60. I'm betting in his day his voice had even more soul than it does now, and he was probably REALLY good back then. And while I like him a lot and think he has a very decent voice, I just don't think he's strong enough as a singer. Love him, though. How could you not???
I think I'm done crying, I made it through his without crying.
Aw, look at Steve The Host trying to make jokes with the judges. Almost seemed genuine!
Brian is next. No one wants to end up in the bottom two. He's 15 years old, and he's not a small child anymore. He wants to be thrown into this grownup world, he can't act like that. I hope he means his apology, because it really made him look juvenile. I can't judge his performance, because I fast forwarded through his performance. I am sorry, I just don't like him. Hope he's next to go.
Drew is last from the girls, and she's thankful for her best friend!! I remember when my best friend and I were like that video...made me tear up, missing that closeness that you only get from being young and in high school and with your whole life ahead of you, before being a GROWNUP gets in the way. I think I may send MY best girlfriend a text to tell her I'm thankful for her. ANYWHO! Back to the song: loved it!! She didn't quite hit the big note she tried for, but I still loved it. Not sure why LA keeps picking on this poor girl. She looked really upset. OOOOOOHHHHHHH SNAP!!! Go Paula, stick it to LA!!!!!! PS, I love it when Simon says "rubbish"! =)
Last, but CERTAINLY not least, is my Joshy-Poo. He's thankful for his daughter, and I still say he doesn't look old enough to have a 13-year old kid!! He's such a sweet guy...great performance, I just love this guy. Will DEFINITELY buy his album.
Results time:
Automatically going home is...Lakoda Rayne. Not TOO disappointed, but I thought they did pretty good this week!
Brian is safe???? Totally disagree. I can at least comfort myself by knowing he won't win.
So it's between Marcus and Leroy. I think the judges will send Leroy home, but I like both and think it's a shame. And after Marcus sang, I don't think there's anything Leroy can do to save himself. Marcus gave a STUNNING performance.
LOVE the way LA completely ignored Steve The Angry-Aggressive Host when he was trying to wrap him up, haha! He won a point in my book, there! =)
Ooooh! Nicole ignored him, too! Get him!!!!!
Paula: "It's not that quick, Steve." The judges are fighting back!!!
You know, if they run out of time at the end, why have TWO guest star performances on the result show????? Get a grip, Fox.
There was a tie vote, so America's vote counts tonight: and that person is...Leroy. And as sad as that is, it's the right choice. Marcus was better between the two of them. But Leroy has more class and talent in his pinky finger than Brian "Astro" Bradley has in his whole body. Leroy should've been here one more week. He's a good singer and a great man. I wish him the best!!!
That's it, folks! Good night and Happy Thanksgiving!!
