X Factor Performance and Results

They started off showing the footage of Steve The Host berating Paula last week. I won't be surprised if there's a new host next season.

Anywho! Let's jump right in.

Leroy is up first. I think it's rude of LA to call the guy boring. He's not necessarily a very CURRENT-sounding singer, but he's a good singer and he's a likable guy. I think he sounded really good singing a Bob Seger song. I don't think guy will win and I don't think he'll do anything much when this show is over. But I like him anyways and I hope he makes it past some of the less talented artists that are on the show. I do agree with Simon that Nicole has given him the same kind of sound every time now. She needs to give him something DIFFERENT.

And Steve The Angry-Aggressive Host strikes again, he's being very rude. He needs to mellow out.

Little Miss Rachel is up next. Simon gave her a Rolling Stones' song...can we say pressure?? Haha. She has a chance to stand out and make such a statement with a rock song. Nicole thinks her age will keep her from "connecting" and I hope Rachel shows her where she can stick that statement. Okay: she's such a little cutie pie!! She looks so precious! And I think she's holding her own just fine. Looks like Nicole was proven wrong. =)

Chris goes next. It's not normally the kind of music I would listen to at all, but Chris made it alright. I wouldn't change the station if this came on the radio, so it can't be that bad. I just love this kid anyway, so I want him to do well. I want him to be the last one standing in his group. Simon is unfortunately right, though: it was way more reggae than rock.

***Sidenote, love Chris's shirt. =)

Stacy is singing a Meatloaf song? Sometimes I wonder if Nicole likes her contestants...and I don't think of this song as a Meatloaf song. I only remember Celine Dion's version. I am literally cringing as I type this. Her voice is just absolutely awful. That's the closest I've ever come to skipping past her singing. I heard that she went home (fingers crossed that I heard correctly) and if that is true then I see why. There wasn't a SINGLE good note in that song. She sounded absolutely awful. Nice lady, TERRIBLE voice. You KNOW she was bad because Paula finally was honest and gave a bad review. LOOOOOVE that Simon said her hair looked better this week, because the no-bangs look last week WAS awful. She's so cute with bangs. Big shock, Steve The Angry-Aggressive Host interrupts Simon. And I love that Simon kept on talking. Those two aren't BFF's like him and Seacrest were.

Melanie is doing REM. Not sure how that will go, but let's see...love the song, but she needs to rock it in some way. Just because REM is a rock band doesn't mean EVERY song they did is a rock SONG. I don't agree with giving her another slow song to sing. Simon should've given her "I Love Rock and Roll" or something. Plenty of female singers have rocked that song before. She sounds great, but it doesn't sound rock. It's got too much soul. No one is ROCKING this show. I am really ready to have someone come out rockin' and rollin' and setting the roof on fire. Sad that it wasn't Melanie.

Josh can rock it. He has the capability. He can do it. Hopefully Nicole didn't screw HIM over, too, with song choice. AND HE DELIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!! I have nothing bad to say, he did great. =)

Brian is next. This is not a rock song, either. This is a HIP HOP song. A version of a rock song, yes. But it's not rock. He still sounds like a little boy. Don't understand how he's still here and the Stereo Hogzz are gone. He's even saying IN THE SONG that it's hip hop. Dislike. Big time.

***Another sidenote: Dear Contestants/Judges (except for Josh): YOU ARE NOT SINGING ROCK SONGS. It's "Rock Week". Please pick songs and song ARRANGEMENTS accordingly. Thank you.

The last group standing is Lakoda Rayne. They really have a chance this week to wow the judges and America. Hopefully Paula gave them a real rock song. I think her song choice was decent, the girls just aren't doing enough with it. I personally think since (so far) they are the only other group to sound even REMOTELY rock they deserve to stay.

Drew is singing U2. Rock band? Yes. But she needs to sing a ROCK SONG, not only to fit in with the theme but to do something different for HER. And she's not. I love this song and she sounds great singing it. But where is the CHALLENGE?? I'm extremely disappointed in almost ALL of the contestants and the judges this week. Rock Week shouldn't sound like this. Why make a theme if hardly anyone is going to stick with it??? Getting super annoyed with the blatant disregard for the theme.

Marcus is last up. He's bringing SOME rock to the show. Three acts of of ten embraced the theme. Sad. ANYWHO!!! I think he sounds really good, but there's a church-like sound to this with the backup singers. He should be singing this a few beats faster and have less backup singing with more electric guitar. And it would've been MUCH better.

Overall: extremely disappointed. Loved everything about Josh's performance, and everyone else frustrated me to some extent.

Let's get to the results and see if what I heard about Stacy was right:

The safe ones are...Leroy, Lakoda Rayne (yay Paula!!), Chris, Melanie, Josh, Marcus, Drew, and Rachel! FINALLY!!! America agreed with me, and the worst two in the competition are in the bottom two.

So that must mean that I heard right and Stacy goes home.

I have to say, I am annoyed at Stacy. Weeks ago she was offended to be considered a church singer, and has suddenly decided to ATTEMPT (key word there) to sing "Amazing Grace". I'm glad she goes home, what a bunch of hypocrisy. And terrible singing to boot. For once I think Brian deserves to stay. You're a nice lady, Stacy, but singing is NOT your thing.

And then Brian stepped out and tried to act like he shouldn't have to perform. What a smug little primadonna. I truly hope that the judges set him straight and bring him back down to reality. Listen up, Brian: like it or not, America put you in the bottom two, so that means that you have to "sing for your life". Rules of the show you signed up for. What a little punk, I'm sorry. I hope he goes next week, I can't believe he thought he didn't have to sing for his life, like it was beneath him. Can we lose them both????

No shock, LA picks Brian to stay and Nicole picks Stacy to stay (and Steve The Angry-Aggressive Host is rushing them, another non-shocker).

THANK YOU, SIMON!!! For calling out the attitude. Brian is just showing how immature he is, and I wish they had gotten rid of him purely for his attitude. That isn't how a 5 million dollar recording artist acts. He needs to get a SERIOUS grip and I hope his mentor and his mother pull him aside off-camera and tell him he needs to grow up.

Terrible week, I'm super disappointed in the way the show went. Glad Stacy went home, hoping America puts Brian in the bottom again next week because he doesn't deserve the opportunity he's being given with an attitude like that.
